Vandaag de dag is het aanbod enorm en blijven de systemen zich verder door ontwikkelen. De scanners worden kleiner, sneller en beter beheersbaar. De functies breiden uit en de precisie neemt toe. Maar zo hoog als de interesse is, zo hard zijn kritische stemmen: "Waarom een intra-orale mondscanner, zoals er nu wordt gewerkt gaat prima?” Wil je jezelf informeren over mondscanners en zoeken naar krachtige antwoorden op kritische vragen? Lees hier tien redenen die spreken over het gebruik van de intra-orale scanner in de dagelijkse praktijk.** ### 1. De intra-orale scanner is een belangrijk onderdeel van de digitale workflow. Door deze innovatie is de mondweergave in een mum van tijd zeer nauwkeurig vastgelegd. Deze gegevens kunnen direct worden verwerkt. De vele bewerkingen die de conventionele afdrukmethode kent, zijn met een intra-orale mondscanner overbodig. ### 2. De intra-orale scanner is een overtuigende marketingtool Patiënten waarderen moderne technologieën. Ze staan open voor digitale behandelingen. De intra-orale mondscanner biedt een hoog niveau van behandelcomfort. Kokhalzen, vieze smaak van het afdrukmateriaal of beperkte ademhaling kunnen de patiënten in veel gevallen worden bespaard. Dat levert een goede mond-tot-mond reclame op. Wanneer u kiest om chairside te werken, plaats u dan de slijpmachine in de wachtkamer. Zal voor veel reuring gaan zorgen bij uw patiënten. ### 3. Analyse van de voorbereiding, real-time weergave en gemakkelijke te herhalen Direct na de preparatie kan de scan op het scherm worden beoordeeld. Wachten op het gipsmodel of de oproep van het laboratorium is voorbij. Ondersnijdingen, pijlerverschillen of de afstand tot de antagonist kunnen onmiddellijk worden bewerkt. Als de scankwaliteit niet bevredigend is, kan er eenvoudig een nieuwe scan worden gemaakt. Er hoeven geen nieuwe afdruklepels te worden gebruikt en er hoeft geen nieuw afdrukmateriaal worden gemengd. Het gehele digitale proces scheelt materialen en werkuren en daardoor geld. ### 4. De praktijk wordt efficiënter, de arbeidstijd wordt verkort Het desinfecteren van het afdrukmateriaal evenals het reinigen van de trays behoort tot het verleden. De intra-orale mondscanner is eenvoudig en snel te desinfecteren. Veel apparaten hebben autoclaveerbare scantips. In de meeste gevallen is het reinigen met alcohol voldoende. Het scheelt enorm in tijd wanneer u overgaat tot het werken met een intra-orale mondscanner. ### 5. Snelle communicatie, geen verzendkosten, minder grondstoffen nodig Na het, eventueel, verzenden van de scangegevens kunt u rechtstreeks communiceren met de behandelingspartner (bijv. orthodontist, in-house Lab of tandtechnisch laboratorium). Directe communicatie. Geen verlies van tijd. Geen transportkosten. Daarnaast is duurzaamheid een belangrijk aspect: door uw digitale scan produceert u geen afvalproducten. ### 6. Eenvoudige archivering door digitale gegevens Het bewaren van een gipsmodel behoort tot het verleden. Digitale scans bewaart u op de computer of lokaal binnen uw netwerk. Archiveren van een digitaal bestand gaat eenvoudig en het STL-bestand is op elk moment beschikbaar. Met de digitale scan hoeft u zich geen zorgen te maken over kwaliteit verlies. Daarnaast is het te allen tijde beschikbaar. Wanneer u een reconstructie moet maken van het gebit, is dit mogelijk. Indien nodig kan er, eenvoudig, een fysiek model worden ‘’geprint’’. Hier zijn verschillende mogelijkheden voor op de markt. Denkend aan een 3D-printer. ### 7. Optimale pasvorm Door de hoge mate van voorspelbaarheid en zeer nauwkeurige restauraties realiseer je een optimale pasvorm. Bij de oude manier van afdrukken werd pas na het uitgieten duidelijk of de afdruk was geslaagd. Nu is dit vaak direct zichtbaar. Zo kun je ook vrijwel direct constateren of het werkstuk past of wellicht nog een kleine aanpassing nodig heeft. ### 8. Keuze voor een chairside behandeling Naast de tijdsbesparing kunt u er ook voor kiezen om chairside te restaureren. Dat houdt in dat u kroon- en/of brugwerk zelf vervaardigd in de praktijk. Ook wel one-day dentistry genoemd. Met de intra-orale mondscanner en bijbehorende software is dit tegenwoordig vrij eenvoudig. Daar de software al zover is doorontwikkeld dat u met slechts kleine aanpassingen een hoog esthetisch werkstuk kunt maken. ### 9. Realistische kleuren voor betere diagnostiek Moderne intra-orale mondscanners werken met geavanceerde software. Dat zie je ook terug in de kleurvervaardiging in de software. Structuur in de elementen en gingiva kunnen eenvoudig worden herkent waardoor het designen van een werkstuk nog gemakkelijker gaat. Bovendien kunnen de gingiva en veranderingen geanalyseerd worden. Dit is onmogelijk met een gipsmodel. Daar het uit 1 kleur bestaat. Met sommige intra-orale mondscanners is het al mogelijk, binnen de software, kleurbepaling aan te zetten. Dan ziet u de kleur van een element. ### 10. Uitbreidingsmogelijkheden m.b.t. diagnoses en planning De intra-orale data kan worden gekoppeld met de 3D röntgenfoto (implantaatbehandeling) of gezichtsscan. Dit vergroot het spectrum van diagnose en planning. De behandelaar kan de patiënt in een vroeg stadium betrekken voor een compleet behandelplan. ### Meer informatie?
